Urghh Niacinamide 😒

I want to hear your opinion. Do you think niacinamide is really overrated ? And do you think we really need concentrated niacinamide product (typically 10% nicinamide serum or booster) in your routine since I think niacinamide is everywhere - in our moisturiser & toner, even in sunscreen. Last but not least, which one would you prefer - 10% niacinamide serum or lower % niacinamide with other brightening or soothing ingredients ? Drop your fav niacinamide serum below !

There's no evidence that higher than 5% percent concentration is required to see the benefits of niacinamide but the trend has been set at 10%. I don't think it's necessarily overrated but not everyone really needs it. Acne prone oilier types with larger pores can definitely see benefits from using nit though. I know I have 🙌 For some people who don't handle niacinamide that well though, I'd say they can skip dedicated serums with higher concentration and just get a moisturiser with niacinamide in it. I do go for 10% but that's not intentional, I just really like the product and it works well for me ✨

I like it too. I decided to try the Porebright 20. I have had no issues with breakouts but no pimples either.

Niacinamide is an amazing skin care ingredient owing to its multiple benefits and suitability for all skin types at a clinically effective concentration 3-5%. I personally don’t see the need for a separate serum because as you mentioned, it’s already combined in most of our skin care products.

when I was starting out my skincare journey, I used the ordinary niacinamide and I saw a lot of improvement over time. I did break out initially but it got better. and I think it is a *little* overrated since almost everything has that in it. but at the same time I think it’s good so more people can try it out. don’t get me wrong I still love love niacinamide I just think it’s not necessary to get a product just for that. my current favourite serum that has niacinamide in it is the BOJ Glow serum ✨

My dry sensitive skin prefers Niacinamide in lower percentage. My skin has been enjoying this Ampoule! Here's my experience ⬇️ https://www.instagram.com/p/CZmDbNaJzk7/?utm_medium=copy_link

I do understand that products already contain it but when I incorporated the serum from The Ordinary my skin felt smoother and it has been helping with the areas where my skin is “oily” (t-zone / combination skin). So I guess, personally, I do like having a separate product for it. 😅
