What's wrong with Urea?

I'm puzzled, as I have always assumed urea to be safe, effective and multifunctional. Yet, recently I have red a couple of comments advising to avoid urea. What's the problem with it? What are it's advantages? What products do you use containing urea?

There is nothing wrong with urea in my opinion. Its a natural substance in our body predominantly food in urine. maybe thats why? 🤪

First I've heard of this. It's great for when I have super dry skin, I didn't realise there were any issues with it.

not sure, I don’t think there’s really anything wrong with it..🤔 I think people just don’t like preservatives

if I remember correctly I heard it was made from animal urine? or I might be thinking of allantoin. I recall reading it on a list of skincare ingredients to avoid if you are vegan

Urea in skincare is completely synthetic. It does not contain any animal by-products

Dr Dray on YouTube has a few videos regarding urea. I think worth looking into, if thr ingredient is right for you or not
