hi! im just a year into posting on my Instagram (@baileyyskin) and i’m just now starting to come up with a theme I, found a few back rounds that I like using & sticking to those few really helped blend my page together a little better!
my best advice to grow your Instagram is:
1. be consistent with posting (I mostly do everyday) I did take a really long 5 month break and when I did go back to posting I wasn’t having as much as a reach then I once did and it took me a while to get my engagement back up so definitely be consistent!
2. It’s important to engage with other skincare content creators and connect with them, so you can help each other grow and share each other’s content through stories!
3. hashtags are important but, make sure they match what your posting and don’t put Radom hashtags!
4. try to take high quality photos and edit them to make them better quality! I don’t use a particular app I just edit photos on my camera roll (iphone)
I hope this was helpful!
btw I looked at your Instagram (I followed you😉) & I love your content and your detailed reviews!

Abit 1yr since I started my page and now it grew to 5.8k followers.
No aesthetics in mind. IG is a social media to grow you need to be social and interacting.
Quality, relatable, and genuine content will bring in followers

Take my advice with a cup of salt, because I'm not a "traditional" beauty guru. I started my IG journey about 5 months ago and have a little over 500 followers. My growth has been slow, but intentionally so. My reviews are more geared towards people who already have a decent knowledge of said beauty products. I felt like I was reading so many cut and paste reviews but none that were entertaining.
I am sarcastic. I love skincare. I enjoy humor. I couldn't find creators writing amusing reviews that I would enjoy reading. So I decided to do it myself so I could cackle away at my own wit.
I was trying out products left and right anyway, so figured if I could help a skincare junkie out and help them avoid wasting money on crap products it would be the least I could do. I don't have a fancy setup and I, too, struggle to find a cohesive aesthetic.
My advice though, is not to focus on a theme early on. The early days are for experimentation. Seeing what works and what doesn't. Pay attention to which posts get the most likes and comments. Go from there. If you spend all your energy on setting up your profile a certain way, then see your audience isn't interested in that backdrop or those products, etc, you may end up wasting all that time and money.
I don't participate in the "gain trains" as I know my content is niche. No point gaining a bunch of followers just to have them all unfollow me once they actually read my content. My goal has been to slowly find the people who actually enjoy what I have to offer vs gaining a huge following overnight.
It sucks. I compare myself to others and wish I could have enough followers for brands to recognize me. But my journey has been about being authentic to myself. Which is why I advise you to figure out what you have to offer and don't paint yourself into a corner you will then end up regretting.
My follower count isn't very high. But my engagement is. And that's what matters to me.
I'm now following you btw. I'm @majesticbeastreviews
