Retinol serum or toner

Which one u prefered, retinol serum or toner? What's the reason?

generally, serum will have higher concentrate than toner, and provide better hydration/moisturization. for me if i’m just started i could try out with a toner first to see if my skin suits retinol or not. but after getting used to it i’ll switch to serum!

Serums simply because it's more concentrated compared to a toner where it's more diluted. But that's just my preference as someone who's used to retinol. A beginner or those with sensitive skin might prefer the toner version better
