In many countries, including the EU, adapalene is only accessible with doctors perscription. Iin the US only the 0.1% is available over the counter, you need prescription as well for higher concentrations. As adapalene is a very strong drug, i would consider going to a dermatologist first if you want to introduce it to your routine to make sure it’s safe for you and your skin.

The first question to use adaplene is why are you willing to try adaplene?? By your questions, it seems you are to curious to use it but confused too. I have used adaplene for a long time and still use it on and off. I can answer the questions but the answer depends on what are you expecting to treat with adaplene??

I was also prescribed this for hormonal acne and it does work. Its a retinoid so yes, it will surely help with pigmentation and scars too!
Now let me tell you my experience 😅 does it helps to give you a clear skin? Yes yes yes..... I used it for almost 7-8 months, initially regular and then on and off and trust me, it worked very well. The key is you have to give it some time and moisturize and protect so much!! When i started, it gave me breakouts as my acne from deep was coming on surfaces. My skin was so dry and it started peeling!!!! Then i understand how it works and used according to my skin type.
❤️For scars, it makes their appearance smoother.
❤️For hormonal bumpy acne, it makes them disappear in long run.
❤️For pigmentation, it helps to reduce the superficial and mild pigmentation from the skin which can turn deep of not treated.
❤️ Those before and afters, yes it can give you those results but always keep your skin is check. How it is reacting to the adaplene and keep consulting your derma.
❤️For anti aging, yes it works because its a retinoid which helps in collagen production and increases cell turnover.
This worked for me in these all cases that i have mentioned above.
Personally, i love adaplene more than retinol or tretinoin🤗
Advice :- use very simple moisturizer with minimum ingredients.
slather the sunscreen like crazy, preferably physical one.
Do not use toner before using it, the moist the skin, the more irritation you will get.
Keep it simple, cleans, adaplene, moisturise, sunscreen 😊
Hope this helps🌹

I’ve been using 0.1% adapalene for almost 3 months now.
1-2 weeks : Dry, irritated and flaky skin aka broken moisture barrier
1st month : purging + broken moisture barrier aka hell
2nd month : smoother skin texture + hyperpigmentations from the purge
Currently : few hormonal breakouts + less redness + same hyperpigmentations
So far I have undergone all the stages according to differin’s website so I guess its working well on my skin!
Would I continue using it? Yes! Maybe for a year, I guess.
Is it worth it? Most probably. Seeing the before and after pics are awesome and I hope I will get the skin that I wanna achieve soon!
Tips :
1. Consistency and persistence is the key
2. Wear a lot of sunscreen and re apply every 2 hours even if you’re indoors
3. Make your routine minimal and simple
4. One active at a time
5. Hydrate and Moisturize
Hope this helps!!

I've been using 0.1% adapalene from the brand differin, I chose this because dermatologists suggest using a very low % if you're using this first time in life.
However, after using this regularly (5 days a week) for 2 & half months, I've noticed dry patches are not so much severe as I expected, which means my skin is not so much sensitive. So after this tube finishes, I'm going to try using 1% retinol from the Inkey List. I know it's gonna be a big jump, but to combat any harsh reaction, I'll be using that one maybe 2 to 3 times a week, after my moisturizer (currently I use the differin first, then wait 15min to absorb & then apply moisturizer)
Hope this helps 😊

The Inkey List retinol is very gentle and great for beginners as well as sensitive skin. It contains 1% retiSTAR, which is about 0.05% retinol, and 0.5% granactive retinoid. It will be much more gentle than adapalene and probably way less effective, so i would think about another product because this one would be a huge downgrade in terms of strength and efficacy.

Actually this is way too pricey considering the amount. But the cost is not the main reason for me wanting to change.
While it definitely helped clear out my acne, but the acnes that already occurred before, they left some very dark marks on my forehead & cheek. Now my concern is not the acne anymore I want to fade thr hyperpigmentation quicker. That's the reason I'm thinking of increasing the %
