Epiduo

Hello! Been using differin since my 13s and then switched to epiduo a bit latter, but I am 20 and I keep using it once in a while, even though I have very few acne. Should I move to a lower % retinol? Are there any risks if I keep using it (of course with SPF the next morning, something I ignored when I was a teen) specially, are there risks if you have heart condition? Also, how different is adapalene in comparison with tretinoin?

If your skin tolerates the perscription well there isnโ€™t any negative effects for continued use. The difference between adapalene and tretinoin is the potency of the products, tretinoin being stronger than adapalene. Because of the difference in strength, adapalene can be bought OTC whereas tretinoin is still prescription only. Tretinoin also has numerous studies in regards to wrinkles, anti-aging and scarring, whereas adapalene has mainly been tested solely for acne.

1. There's a difference between Differin and Epiduo. Both products contain 0.1% Adapalene but Epiduo contains 2.5% benzoyl peroxide (anti-acne/microbial). If you have experienced good results with Differin and you can manage you acne, it's still fair to use it alone. If you need a topical retinoid with MILD anti-acne, Epiduo is a good choice. 2. If you're referring to topical Adapalene, most of the side effects are topical. 3. In simple explanation; Tretinoin and is highly effective but irritating and Adapalene has a comparable efficacy with lesser irritation. Hope it helps.
