New products causes breakouts

Recently I tried a new product to review: Clarins Double Serum. When trying a new product to review, does your skin breakout with pimples? (I don't normally have pimples on my face). Do you continue using the product or give up and review your initial experience? Share your experiences! 🤭

Unless it's something that is known to purge the skin like Vitamin A it's not a good sign when your skin breaks out, and no, doesn't normally happen. I would try to use the serum once a week only and if the reaction continues I would discontinue use. Also I wouldn't pick and choose the best impression I had of the serum and I would include both good and bad in the review

Good insight! I only recently tried sample from Kiehl Retinol. After first use, my acne pop up on my nose bridge. I guess it does make sense because of retinol.

Give it another try after few weeks or so. Also start slow and maybe mix it with your moisturizer for few days to buffer it.

that's a good idea... usually I just do it separately instead of mixing it altogether. I did find it more oily.

It might just be purging! I would give it a week or so and if the condition of your skin stays the same/worse, I would stop using it.

I love this serum so far and am testing it too! I would recommend easing it into your routine but also checking the ingredients to make sure the actives and such aren’t fighting each other. Usually I give products about 1.5/2 weeks before I decide it’s a no!
