Yes, it does depends on the product! Some cleansing balms require to emulsify the oil, so that there's no oil residue which may clog the pores. However, some products emulsify quickly, such that you can simply rinse it off and its done. Quality cleansing oils/balms are designed to emulsify(turns slightly white) when in touch of water.

after applying and massaging oil based cleanser for awhile, u should add some water to emulsify it, it will usually turn cloudy white colour then only rinse it off. if u do not emulsify thoroughly, some oil cleansers may clog your pores

yes i always emulsify to make sure that i wash off the cleansing balm/oil properly. it takes me less than a minute. i know some people likes to do the emulsifying for a long time but i find that the oil already breaks down everything even before emulsification.

I would definitely double cleanse. A lot of these video hacks on You Tube and Tik Tok are just for views. If I add water to my cleansing oil or balm, it washes it off. Maybe it's a specific product they're talking about, but I would always wash my face after using a balm or cleansing oil. I'd use a cotton pad with astringent or toner after using a balm or oil and that will show you how much oil & dirt is left over. Usually there's still enough dirt or oil to merit doing a double cleanse. 👍

I always emulsify because this is how it unclog and deep cleanses your pores/skin.
