I tried incorporating PHA in my routine as it is a gentle acid exfoliator. I think urea would also help (I use it on hands and they are getting smoother) and even niacinamide and sulfur have a keratolytic effect.

Exfoliation isn’t necessary, so be sure the risk is worth the gain. I have rosacea too. I’m using retinal and azelaic acid right now and am thinking of adding an acid back in 1-2 times a week alongside my AA. I’ll tag the ones I’m looking at.

I have rosacea, but my skin tolerates salicylic acid very well, so I exfoliate occasionally with a BHA toner. 1 time per week max, but more like once every 2 weeks. I do also use azelaic acid nightly as that’s great for rosacea and also a very mild exfoliant.

Sounds like what I do! Exfoliating toners are usually gentle enough to get away with it seems

I also exfoliate every 7 to 10 days once with a BHA from Paulas Choice and a mild Mandelic Acid. I use Azeliac Acid every night in addition.

I exfoliate 1-2 times a week. I think it helped me alot when I stopped using leave-on products to exfoliate.
