Dry/Sensitive

They look like closed comedones. Here is what I would suggest in that case: •salicylic acid - this really helps to get into your pores and clear out any gunk whilst helping the texture of your skin. I love the Benton toner as it has 0.5% salicylic acid, so it’s very gentle. You can use this everyday after building tolerance or just 3/4 times a week, it’s up to you. You can also find stronger products at 2%, but use these less! Too much exfoilaition can cause closed comedones to get worse. •lactic acid - if salicylic acid and BHAs are not your thing, then I suggest a gentle AHA which is just as good for surface exfoilaition and reducing the bumps. I prefer lactic as it isn’t too strong yet isn’t too gentle, but you also have glycolic and mandelic - you can find products which combine more than one AHA, or even AHA + BHA. It depends on what you are willing to try out! Lactic acid is a lovely humectant so will help your skin hydration too. •benzoyl peroxide - you can also give this a go, as it is known to be a classic acne fighting ingridient that kills bacteria that often fuels pimples and clogged pores, helping closed comedones. •retinoids - this causes your skin cells to shed more quickly, preventing them from clogging up your pores and leaving behind smoother skin, helping the texture of your closed comedones. Do not use this with other stronger acids! •use non comedogenic products - this is more a preventive measure than a fix for closed comedones. Using products that won’t clog your pores reduces chances of closed comedones from growing and worsening. You definitely do not need all of this - one, or even two on rotation is enough to tackle closed comedones sometimes. I just thought to add in a lot of options so you can decide what’s best for you! Overdoing the skin can definitely lead to more harm than good. It’s important to supply your skin with a lot of hydration too!

Dry/Sensitive

Oh, wish it had worked out :( what I noticed with BHA is this: lower percentage + more use = better results. This is just for my skin and my preference! I switched from a 2% salicylic acid (which in the Cosrx, the 4% betaine salicylite is equivalent to 2% salicylic acid) to a 0.5% salicylic acid toner. I built up use and tolerance so now I’m able to use this toner everyday and I’ve seen AMAZING results, compared to a 2% use once a week. BHA also tend to dry me out but this toner uses aloe to tackle that.
