Konjac Sponges

what do you guys think about them? are they effective for mild physical exfoliation? im still on the fence on whether i should use physical or chemical exfoliators. i have eczema so my skin is prone to having open wounds.

Something to know about konjac sponges: Konjac facial sponges are best known for cleansing and gently exfoliating. Because the plant is extremely gentle, using a sponge with konjac is often recommended for unclogging pores, especially with oily and acne-prone skin. In addition to cleansing and exfoliating,a konjac facial sponge is also great for removing makeup. Since konjac facial sponges allow you to gently exfoliate your skin without excess irritation, they’re generally considered safe for most skin types. However, please avoid them if you have very sensitive skin. Instead, for very sensitive skin, it is recommended to use a medical-grade chemical exfoliant. This includes alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), which are now formulated to gently exfoliate the skin and are generally well tolerated by all skin types. Having said this, please consult a dermatologist on what are best for you if you have eczema prone skin.

These sponges are definitely not for you. These are too much for sensitive skin.

I second consulting a dermatologist. If physical exfoliation is advised and you do go with the konjac sponge, be sure to completely soften it with water and don’t scrub at your face. I personally use konjac sponges on occasion when I have any dry flakiness and it seems to do the trick at sloughing that skin off without irritation but I am not a sensitive skin type.

I personally won't recommend it being used on the face even if it looks like it is mild physical exfoliation. Try using a wash-off chemical exfoliant for sensitive skin.

It is not recommended for sensitive skin as it is too harsh. Not all skin can handle it
