Yes, I think someone posted here in the discussion awhile back mentioning bakuchiol is an endangered species. I did some googling and articles did show up for 'bakuchiol endangered species' keywords. However, I noticed a rise in the use of bakuchiol despite it being endangered, so I did another googling again with different keywords, and I looked through list of endangered plant species in India, there's no bakuchiol/babchi anywhere. If you search it from the list of endangered plant species, its just not there (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_endangered_plants). After extend googling myself, I just don't think there's enough evidence to label bakuchiol is endangered.

That’s what I read too, on the other hand it also makes sense when companies harvest them from the wild created a potential for this plant to become endangered in the short future. I really hope for the best, just too many species vanished from earth already it’s sad.

I love the ingredient but I hope it's not in endangered. Im going to do my own personal research tonight to make sure I'm not contributing to its decline in the ecosystem.

I have also seen conflicting information about the status of the babchi plant. Most say it is not endangered currently, however, the seeds to produce bakuchiol are all harvested from wild plants not farmed plants. So there is speculation that this could lead to it becoming endangered. My sensitive skin really enjoys bakuchiol, so my hope is that if brands want to continue to use this ingredient they figure out a way to make it more sustainable.

I read that psoralea corylifolia grows in the wild and isn’t something that has been grown on farms. This seems like a huge contributing factor to the plant becoming endangered!
