if you have damaged skin barrier I’d stop with all active skincare aka no vitamin c, niacinamide, acids, exfoliants, retinoids etc scale your routine back to mild cleanser, moisturizer and spf. I’d go for a barrier healing moisturizer like cicaplast, cialfate, calming cream etc. look for calming and barrier strengthening ingredients like centella, glycerin, squalane, ceramides

Avoid active ingredients like niacinamide, vit c, retinol, exfoliants, and any other actives (you can Google it active ingredients). Try to focus on soothing and hydrating ingredients like cica, mugwort, cactus, hyaluronic acid, etc. It worked really well on me.
