Use Glycolic acid for?

Glycolic acid is a type of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that is commonly used in skincare products. It is derived from sugar cane and belongs to a group of organic compounds known as hydroxy acids. Glycolic acid is highly soluble in water and has the smallest molecular size among AHAs, allowing it to penetrate the skin effectively. Skincare Benefits: 1. Exfoliation: One of the primary benefits of glycolic acid is its ability to exfoliate the skin. It works by breaking down the bonds between dead skin cells, promoting their shedding and revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath. This process helps to improve the texture and tone of the skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and enhance the overall radiance. 2. Skin Brightening: Glycolic acid can help fade dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone. By removing the outer layer of dead skin cells, it allows new, healthier skin cells to come to the surface, resulting in a more even complexion. 3. Acne Treatment: Due to its exfoliating properties, glycolic acid can be beneficial for acne-prone skin. It helps unclog pores, reduces the formation of whiteheads and blackheads, and prevents future breakouts. 4. Skin Moisturization: Although glycolic acid is an exfoliant, it can also have moisturizing effects. It stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid and collagen in the skin, which helps improve hydration and skin elasticity. It is important to note that glycolic acid can cause skin sensitivity, especially at higher concentrations. It is recommended to start with lower concentrations and gradually increase if tolerated well. It is also crucial to use sunscreen when using products containing glycolic acid, as it can increase sun sensitivity. Glycolic acid can be found in various skincare products, including cleansers, toners, serums, peels, and moisturizers. If you are considering using glycolic acid in your skincare routine, it is advisable to consult with a dermatologist or skincare professional to determine the appropriate concentration and frequency of use for your skin type and concerns.

Great info! I actually use it for my armp🀭 I have the Glycolic Acid from The Ordinary and I use it on my armpits every now and then to reduce body odor. It works amazing. The sweat smell causing bacteria don't thrive well in acidic environment. When I noticed my face couldn't collerate it well I started using it for ny arm pits and exfoliationg my legs & feet 😊
