Retinol Beginner

So I have a lot of acne scars, large pores, blackheads, whiteheads and sometimes active acne. I don't really have any hyperpigmentation just mainly acne scars. I want to start retinol so I bought the cerave skin resurfacing retinol (the blue one). I heard it's really good for acne scars and acne. My plan to start using retinol by this skincare routine for the week. Sunday: Regular Morning/Night Monday: Regular Morning/Retinol Tuesday: Regular Morning/Night Wednesday: Regular Morning/Night Thursday: Regular Morning/Retinol Friday: Regular Morning/Night Saturday: Regular Morning/Night Retinol Routine: 1st line Morning Routine: 2nd line Regular Night routine except with the hada labo whiting essence.

i'd start with retinol once a week to see how the skin reacts then twice a week after a month. Especially the cerave can be a bit strong. Also the vitamine c in the same week can irritate the skin if you have sensitive skin.

yeah using too many actives can irritate the skin especially vitamine c and retinol. Plus you also using niacinamide

Seems like a fine setup if you feel confident that your skin has overall good resistance and doesn’t tend to react to actives/new products a lot. Just be very mindful in the beginning to how your skin is feeling and adjust the frequency of using retinol if you notice overly sensitizing or other adverse reactions. Slow and steady wins the race 💪🏼

I hope so but I'm really trying to find an oil cleanser for oily acne prone skin.

yes but vitamin c is only in the morning and the cosrx snail dual essence is both snail and nicinamide.

This actually sound like a pretty good routine plan. I would indeed start using the Retinol only 2x or even 1x a week as it can be tricky to get used to. But look very good!
