Prep skin is the key
Before applying the foundation makes sure to hydrated the skin and wait till it’s fully absorb too
For the foundation i prefer to use something light and natural finish (not matte but not too glowy)
Then i would set it with loose powder.. but no tapping with sponge or any dense tools
Use brushes… tap a little amount softly no hard pressure and wipe of with up and down motion or circular (avoid to side motion) on forehead but issokey around cheeks area
You could build up if you think it’s need more powder.. and once done use setting spray to melt everything but not too wets
The more fine the mist the better so it wont makes clumps or uneven
And done
I have dryskin and live in a tropic country and this is the best technique to keep my complexion looks good not emphasise my texture and last longer

Have you tried a silicone base primer like Smashboxs Photo finish. I know a lot of people that have had great success. Also if you can exfoliate with an AHA like glow recipes Water Melon Glow over night mask and dermaplane to remove dead skin and use a hyluronic acid serum to plump lines it should also help.
