Fungal Acne Safe

If a product isn’t safe for fungal acne does it mean that it could potentially cause you to get fungal acne? I have a serum that I’ve been using for a week or two and I’m scared to use it on my forehead since I don’t want to get fungal acne. I started using a little bit on my forehead but I’ve started noticing some texture. It wasn’t completely clear but it felt smooth and now I have a couple of bumps.

Hii!! So fungal acne is Malassezia which is a type of yeast we naturally produce on our skin biome! When a product is fungal acne safe it does not contain fatty oils that allow the yeast to technically “multiply” and spread its way all over your face causing irration and bumps which we perceive as acne! I’ll leave a link here to help you find ingredients and products that are safe for your skin type! ⬇️ https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/7xfcx8/acne_safe_and_unsafe_ingredients_for_fungal/ My qualifications of giving you this information 😆 1. I’m a lab manager who tests many name brand products (can’t say what 😖) 2. I have a B.S in Human Biology 👩🏻‍🔬 3. I’m obtaining my Masters in Cosmetic Science 🤭🧪 I hope this helps in your skincare journey 💝
