☀️ Zinc oxide based mineral sunscreen
This mineral sunscreen is a moisturizing and water resistant option from Fré. It uses zinc oxide as the main ingredient to provide SPF in a mineral formula. It comes in a beautiful blue pump bottle and has a slightly thicker than lotion consistency. I felt that this sunscreen was much closer to a lotion feel than the watery and serum type ones I mostly use. I did notice that this tended to have a little bit of white cast if it wasn't thoroughly rubbed in but I think that the benefit of a water resistant formula is likely why the consistency is thicker and a little less easy to work with. The thicker formula also meant that it didn't pair well with certain gel or thicker face creams if there wasn't adequate absorption time in between applying products.
Overall, this sunscreen works well to use right before doing outdoor activities or when out in the water. I don't love the texture or the way it pairs with some of my skincare products, but for a water resistant sunscreen I think it has a better texture than comparable products. It's a good option for active lifestyles and more minimalist skincare routines because of the thicker texture. However, I don't think I'll use this one much in the winter months since I don't need water resistance.
