Just a quick background about the brand, just in case it's your first time hearing about them.
- Chocho's Lab is a fairly new Korean skincare brand that produces affordable, yet quality makeup products.
- The brand is the brainchild of Cho Sung Ah, a renowned Korean makeup artist.
- Here's the brand's website, in case you wanna check it out: https://chochoslab.com/
I checked the website myself and these are what the product claims to deliver:
- double block, with its UVA and UVB filters
- pore blurring
- makeup booster
Now we go to the primer... At first, this wasn't something that I intended on buying but it's very cheap (less than 5.00 USD) so I went ahead and gave it a go. If you're in the Philippines, you can order it through the Shopee accounts of @seoulunni2020 and @hanmanilaph.
It's got this creamy texture that you may think will be heavy on someone who has oily skin, but that really wasn't the case. In the photo, you'll see that I squeezed out a lot of product but in reality, you'd only ever need just a small amount to apply on the areas that you wanna blur. I just spread a small dot on my cheeks, T-zone and chin to give my skin that healthy glow. Since a little goes a long way, this product will surely last me months even with everyday use. Besides, it's just going to leave you with an annoying white cast if you use a lot (see last photo), which does not sit well with people with skin of color.
When it comes to performance, it does a great job in priming my skin for sunscreens and skin tints, as you'd expect from a product developed by a veteran makeup artist. It really didn't feel like I was applying just a $5.00 primer on my face.
So yeah, all in all I was satisfied with how the product performs and will probably purchase another tube once mine runs out since it really doesn't break the bank.
