Skinoren 20% Cream by Bayer is a topical treatment for acne vulgaris containing azelaic acid (20% w/w) as its active ingredient, which works by targeting Propionibacterium acnes bacteria, reducing keratin skin cell growth that blocks pores, clearing existing acne, preventing new breakouts, reducing inflammation, soothing skin, and improving microcirculation. For optimal results, the cream should be applied twice daily to affected areas after cleansing (with sensitive skin users starting once-daily for the first week), using approximately 2.5cm (0.5g) of cream for the entire face, with noticeable improvement typically seen after about 4 weeks, though continuous use for several months is recommended for best outcomes, without exceeding 12 months of continuous use. This prescription-only medicine in some regions is not recommended for children under 12 years old.

For me, this prescription azelaic acid has done wonders for my skin! Being of such high concentration it still causes me some tingling after applucation but nothing too irritating. This is not a product that shows results fast, and it takes a long period of consistent use to see any change. After a couple months of using 2-3 times a week at night, combined with using retinol on alternating nights, my scars have almost all faded away!

Nothing bad, just note that this has a much higer concentration than usual otc azelaic acids so people with sensitive skin might want to start using something else.
