Free of essential oils but does contain synthetic fragrance.
I’m sure the first thing you’ll want to know is how this compares to the brand’s long-time classic aloe soothing sunscreen. This is thicker, more emollient, & more suited for really dry skin like mine. This also features older UV filters instead of the new, more stable ones. I think the reason for this is so that the brand can sell it in physical stores in America where the new filters are not yet FDA approved. Not because they aren’t safe but because the American FDA is incredibly slow with the approval process in comparison to most other countries.
Upon application, you’ll think that this will leave a cast but I assure you - it won’t. It looks very oily at first but once it dries down, it leaves the skin looking hydrated & dewy but not greasy. The fragrance is a bit strong at first but dissipates within an hour or two. It’s very sharp & “clean”.
There’s really not much to say about the ingredients. The formula is a pretty basic. There are several silicones which I love. They provide effective occlusivity. There’s cocoa & glucose for hydration & tocopherol for antioxidant protection.
If you have really dry skin & are looking for a basic formula but with a really elegant feel, this one’s for you.
