What caught my eye with the Too Faced Better Than Chocolate Eyeshadow Palette was the chocolate theme. I'm sucker for chocolate scented cosmetics or skincare products. It being a mostly brown color story had be sold. The packaging is great, just like all of the Too Faced products. The colors are very pretty. A nice variety of matte and sparkly. Brown shades and a few random but cohesive colors, like the purple. The color story works. The feel of the shadows is nice and soft. And the faint scent of chocolate is awesome. I really enjoyed that part. I'm glad I have it in my collection. I would also be interested in the other products from this line.
Unlike the other reviews I've seen, I wasn't super impressed with the formulas. I find it hard to get a good pigment payoff. Using my fingers helps, but not by a lot. The color just doesn't transfer well onto my skin. It was very underwhelming. Others may have a technique that I haven't been using, so they get a better result. It was a rather expensive palette for the experience I've had with it. I only have used a few times due to the issues of getting on my skin.
I'm glad I have it. I wish I would have gotten it on sale, because it is overpriced in my opinion. I do love the chocolate theme. Would I recommend this, not as my first choice though. I probably wouldn't repurchase again. Maybe I will find a way to get it to work as well as some of my other products, because I know people like this palette. I'm going to keep experimenting with it. Hopefully that will change my mind.
