I received this product for free from Picky and ETUDE in exchange for my honest review.
I love that this is fragrance free. It features a hybrid of panthenol (to help your skin retain its moisture) and madecassoside (which is meant to help damaged skin) known as pathensoside. These two ingredients are fantastic for people with dry leaning skin. For those who haven’t heard of madecassoside, it comes from centella asiatica/cica, which is an ingredient more of us are familiar with.
As someone with dry leaning skin, foaming cleansers can leave my skin feeling tight after cleansing when used by themselves. For the sake of the review I used this one by itself to see how my skin reacted and it was in fact dried out when I used the suggested two pumps. I was able to solve this problem when it was used as part of a dual cleansing routine with a balm based cleanser used first. This helped get rid of the film that balms can leave behind, and the balm kept my skin protected enough that this didn’t dry my skin out.
The main con with me and why I took off one star: it is not safe for the eye area. It says not to apply to the eye area and that’s a big pet peeve of mine as a makeup artist. Of course I want to be able to use a cleanser on my eyes to make sure I get rid of all the mascara from my eyes. However this does work well at making the rest of the skin on my face feel clean, so I just use it on days when I’m not wearing makeup.
