I received this product for free from Picky and HANSKIN in exchange for my honest review.
What makes this formula a little different, is that I have never used a cleansing oil that is also an exfoliant. This product features PHA, or Poly Hydroxy Acid. So if you start using this and aren't already doing so (but we should be doing so!), it is advised to use this in combination with an SPF in the day time. This worked really well at leaving my skin feeling soft, even after a double cleanse. My preference when having worn makeup is use a cleansing oil and a foaming cleanser. But depending on the foaming cleanser, sometimes the duo can dry me out. So I was really impressed this oil left me so hydrated! When I did use this by itself, it didn't leave my skin feeling overly oily, which I also appreciated. I highly recommend this to others who deal with dry skin like I do!
I usually don't enjoy scented products, but this one had a lovely refreshing citrus scent. I know what you're thinking, and in my opinion, it did not smell like a cleaning product because there were no artificial ingredients in this cleansing oil. It has multiple types of flower oils as well, but that part wasn't as strong to me. It smelled nice and fresh likely thanks to multiple oils in the formula, including: orange, lavender, and tea tree oil. I love that the scent leans citrus, since I tend to enjoy more fruity scented products.
I was also really impressed that this didn't sting my eyes when I went to use it to remove my eye makeup. Although the box does warn, not to get directly in your eye. So this might not be the case for everyone who uses it. I was also very gentle when rubbing it along my lashes to remove my mascara, kept my eyes shut tight, and rinsed really well.
All in all this product ticked off multiple things I look for in a product: a scent I enjoyed, being gentle on my eyes, and managed to remove makeup/spf at the end of the day. This is why I did not remove any stars from my rating.
