good review
A great multipurpose balm I remember being desperate to get my hands on this cleanser for ages but it was sold out everywhere, but I eventually managed to get it and found that it was worth the wait. I've never been too fond of the inkey list's packaging, however I'm willing to overlook that as the quality of the product is more important, and you do get a decent amount of product for a very fair price with this one. This cleansing balm is a great option for a first step cleanse - for those who wish to remove makeup and SPF before going in with another cleanser to remove dirt and impurities - or as a standalone product for those with sensitive or extremely dry skin. This product has a short but effective ingredients list, the main selling point ingredients being colloidal oatmeal and oat kernel oil, both soothing, hydrating and repairing ingredients. This is a very gentle cleansing balm that won't disrupt the skin's barrier. For my personal experience, I really enjoyed it for the most part. I found it was very effective at removing my waterproof mascara, eyeliner and SPF. This balm was soothing to use and my skin always felt softer after use. I personally prefer to use a gel cleanser after the cleansing balm, because I have oily skin but I think it would be okay to use it as is if you have dryer skin. One thing to note is it has a bit of a grainy texture, which I don't mind but those with sensory issues should be wary of. The inkey list states this cleansing balm can be left on for ten minutes as a hydrating face mask, but I did not find this beneficial to my skin personally.... Read more

Now for the reason I removed a star. I really do like this cleansing balm, but I feel the manufacturing can be quite inconsistent. Sometimes, it's so thick that it's almost impossible to squeeze out of the tube, and other times when I squeezed the tube I got a straight jet of oil shot at me. I was rather disappointed with how much each bottle varies, as the first tube I got made me feel this could really be a holy grail product for me. I would like to note that I have also seen others have similar complaints about inconsistencies with the product.... Read more

good review
here's a deep dive on how I use the versatile cleansing balm and why it will remain a staple in my daily routine. 💃 This is the one balm I'll use twice a day if my skin needs extra moisture. At $10 per 5oz, it's affordable enough to use in excess. Contrary to my Reel, a little goes a long way and I see this tube lasting me a long time. I'm also very thankful for the squeezy tube in lue of a jar. As you can see, I have fun with the squeeze squeeze. 💃 This cleansing balm doubles down as a mask, too! I always leave it on for extra long not only to seep in the ingredients, but I noticed it really tackles black heads on my nose. 💃 Leaving it on as a shower mask has done wonders for my skin. I take extra hot showers and baths which are known to strip skin. By keeping the cleansing balm on throughout the shower, it's locking in moisture and protecting my skin. The texture is like a thicker vasaline which I also use as a skin protectant and to seal in my creams. 💃 Cleansing balms are great for a double cleanse. For me, I don't always do a second cleanse after this balm because water rinses it enough away for me on days I'm trying to lock in extra hydration. The left over product on my skin from not second cleansing is a lovely texture that I welcome. Also, my sensitive break out prone skin has no bad reactions to not second cleansing after this one. 💃 If you're new to cleansing balms and wondering what the heck they are... You're not alone, they can be confusing at first. The idea is that they tackle layers of product, like spf and makeup, better than a regular daily cleanser. The dense oils in cleansing balms essentially melt away grime from the emulsion process. They're meant to be the first step in a double cleanse process, using a regular cleanser afterward to get rid of the cleansing balms oil. The cleansing balm is applied to dry skin- sometimes ANY wetness can ruin the process and turn the oil to milk (I'm looking at you, The Ordinary Squalene 👀)... Read more

❌ Cons: - The bottle itself isn’t the best; however, it is very cheap so I don’t think I could complain too much! - Need to shake it a bit before use otherwise the product can separate a little and feel more oily when you squeeze it out.... Read more

good review
Oat Cleansing Balm - an affordable and gentle oat-based cleansing balm by the UK based skincare brand The Inkey List. If I had to choose between cleansing oils and balms, it would be an easy choice: I definitely prefer cleansing oils! I don’t love that most of the balms are usually in jars. Some of them are far less easy to emulsify than oils, and you have to remove them with a damp cloth to rinse them properly. So when I saw that the inkey list balm was in a tube, I was sold. I like its rather short formula, with soothing oat extracts, very appealing! Containing: – sweet almond, sunflower and oat kernel oils - helping to dissolve impurities – emulsifying ingredients – and also colloidal oatmeal and oat kernel oil - giving a soothing effects Fairly simple, no fuss product, great for all skin types. Texture: thick and has a slight graininess to it, which, once worked into the skin, dissolves easily. Overall a great cleanser for dry or sensitive skin.I can see why it quickly become a bestseller for the brand, and I'm not surprised one bit. 10/10... Read more
