Are lip balms necessary?

Recently I’ve been using the kombucha tea lip balm from dr ceuracle and it’s nice for hydrating. However, my lips have never been more hyrdrated and plump since I stopped avoiding them with the rest of my skincare routine. If a toner is good enough for the rest of your face, it should be for like as well. The only thing to keep in mind is you don’t want anything too harsh and nothing you can’t ingest. What are your thoughts on this?

The skin on your lips is much thinner than your face, so it's not really a fair comparison. Lip balms are just as important to me as my skincare because I use balms with SPF in them to protect against the sun. Also I live in Canada where the winters are baaad, so you definitely need some protection when you're going out.
