haircare journey + my routine

So I recently got into haircare as someone with really damaged and thin hair and I thought I’d record my hair journey here!! I only began haircare recently (around two to three weeks ago), and before that I used to just use the shampoo my sister would use. One of the main reasons why my hair is so damaged is because a few years back I’d use random products in my hair that were trending, and I never did any research. My hair is also brown for some reason 🥲 I’ve never ever dyed my hair before but I’ve heard that the sun can turn your hair lighter? The heat may be a cause for the damage as well. Another thing is that I naturally have curly hair, probably why I have so much frizz, but my hair is too dead to revive my curls. I have low porosity hair, so my first step into my haircare journey was investigating which ingredients I should look out for. I tend to avoid proteins because they aren’t suited for low porosity hair and will only build up in my hair. If you don’t know already, low porosity hair means your hair cuticles are tight so it is difficult for moisture to penetrate through. I used to use the fino hair mask, but I discovered that it’s actually for high porosity hair due to its proteins. I switched to the tsubaki hair mask on the weekend two days ago (so very recently lol). For my shampoo, I got a rosemary shampoo from yesstyle, you can use the coupon code SARANGHOE and rewards code SRIB3RRY for 15-20% off. Rosemary is really good for hair growth, a huge benefit to my thin hair. I had pneumonia in April and the meds I took resulted in extreme hair thinning so I really need to thicken my hair. I also use a rosemary scalp enhancer (same brand as the shampoo I use- AROMATICA) and rosemary oil (you can get this anywhere tbf), to help grow out my hair. I additionally use the GROWUS heat protectant (i forgot to mention I never ever used heat protectant cus my mum said we didn’t need it (we do)!) and I use the L’Oréal purple conditioner because apparently it’s good for low porosity hair. I’ll try to slowly update on this routine!! All the hair products (except my shampoo and conditioner) were gifted to me by yesstyle, and I also got sent the &honey sakura shampoo and conditioner set so I might use them (?) but I’m 90% sure they aren’t for my hair type and I’d rather not risk it :,) I also started using a tangle teezer hair brush and a silk bonnet for when i go to sleep! A silk pillowcase would be alright as well, but I move around a lot when i sleep so i decided to buy a bonnet. I’ll update on this routine! (The first and second images are my hair before, the fourth, fifth and sixth are my hair after my haircare routine- i think there’s a subtle difference and my frizz has been tamed a bit which is good for using the haircare for the first time ^^) Please leave any tips if possible!
