Yes, I have heard people using it on their face, and back acne, and it seems to work. I wouldn't be afraid to use it, to be honest.
You can always buy some, use it as a shampoo, and whenever you do wash your hair, put a tiny amount on your face. This way, it wouldn't be an every day wash, and you could still keep under control any differences on your skin.
I'm using baby shampoo when I want to remove waterproof mascara, and any eyeshadow (I stopped wearing foundation years ago). It's gentle on my eyes, and the most effective waterproof remover I have ever tried.
Think of it also this way. Men use shampoo to wash their hair, face, and body, and they appear to have better skin, with not much effort.

You only need to leave the ketoconazole shampoo on your face for 3-4 minutes, like a mask, and then rinse it off. So it should be fine. But it's always best to patch test first on a small area of your skin to be safe.
I've used ketoconazole shampoo for dandruff and it works so well. Now I just use it a couple times a month for maintenance/prevention. I never tried it directly on my face as I don't have fungal acne, but sometimes a bit of the shampoo can get into my forehead area when washing my hair, but my skin seems fine. There wasn't any negative reactions at all.
The shampoo I use is called Pristine Shampoo btw. It contains ketoconazole. You can find it on Lazada, TikTok Shop and in selected pharmacies.
