When the skin is dehydrated, the sebaceous glands in the skin will try to compensate for the lack of moisture by producing more oil (sebum). So it's important to keep your skin hydrated: 1. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. 2. Avoid using a harsh cleanser that can strip your skin of its natural oil. 3. Apply a hydrating serum and follow with a moisturizer to seal in the hydration. When choosing the product, look for ingredients such as ceramide, glycerin, squalane, panthenol, betaine, beta glucan, etc Other than maintaining hydration, using clay mask/pack once a week and using products that contain niacinamide, zinc, tea tree oil, and witch hazel regularly can also help reduce excess sebum.

i have the worst oily skin like the oils from my eyelids burn my eye balls πŸ˜πŸ™ but i read that its bc your skin is not hydrated enough. i use to not use much heavy hydrating products cus i dont want to be a greaseball but ive found that non stripping cleanser + exfoiliating + thick hydrating moisturiser has helped my skin ALOT i also use to always wash my face in the morning cuz i could fry an egg with my face with the amount of oil i have. but now i only wash with cleanser only when im putting on makeup. if i dont leave the house i will only wash with water. this takes awhile! i know its very uncomfortable to not wash your face in the morning but youve got it! my face is still oily and idt its possible to really change much about that but these has helped me make my face MUCH LESS oily. these days i dont leave the house hence i dont wash my face (with cleanser) and i dont feel like my face is that oily until around evening (which i will shower and cleanse my face anyways) goodluck! 🩷

Dry/Resilient

Sometimes being gentle is the way to go because irritation can cause it to get super oily. Something gentle but not film foaming to the skin becaus elots of gentle products tend to be made with dry skin in mind. I love Cetaphil, Cerave, Clinique, and Paula Choice because they have gentle products for oily skin. Korean products can work too but get ones made for oily skin because many tend to focus on hydration and makes oily skin oily. So find light weight products with no scents is a good way to find a favorite When I was really oily, I tried tretinoin and it just kept the oil at bay to the poin lt by skin became dry but it can be strong and not reccomended if you plan to get pregnant
