Is Vitamin C worth it? (new dr Dray video made me question it)

I just watched the newest Dr Dray video and it crept back right in. The doubt. I've watched her previous video in the matter where she discusses how unstable vitamin C is and how she's not using any vitamin C serums, and that the only one that's backed up with studies is Skinceuticals one that is on a very expensive side. Since that video I did my online research on forums and YouTube and it would seem that people use different vitamin C products and they are pretty effective for them. So it would seem that it's not only Skinceuticals one that is worth it. I've also read that it's difficult to measure Vitamin C's anti-aging properties (as very strong antioxidant) because you have to use it constantly for years and then you will see if it was worth it. As for me personally I use vitamin C serum by Geek & Gorgeous and I've been using vitamin C serums for two years now. I'm not sure if it's doing anything as I also use strong actives in my routine that already help with fine lines, texture and brightening (AHA, BHA, retinoids, niacinamide, chamomile). Aside Dr Dray there are some dermatologists online that praise vitamin C and it's amazing properties and advise using it in your daily skincare routine (i.e. Labmuffin). What do you think of it all guys? Do you use any form of vitamin C? Do you see any benefits of using it? I'd be grateful for your insight.

I’m sorry I love dr dray but when I saw that statement I was not pleased. She’s entitled to her opinion and that maybe Vit c didn’t do anything for her. Anyways... for me I can vouch for it... it was the only ingredient that helped fade my PIE and PIH, I’m forever grateful to LAA (Vit c) and I will die trying every serum out there without having to pay 100$ for a tiny bottle

she didnt say it doesnt work , she simply stated the fact that the only studies on the effectiveness of vit c were made with the skin ceuticals patent formulation + that vit c oxidizes very fast and is difficult to formulate so that it can actually pwnetrate the skin

I think it all depends on the product itself. I use Monat C. Radiance serum which is a vitamin c serum and it has done wonders for brightening my dull skin and giving it that gorgeous natural glow. But I have used other vitamin c serums and saw no change. The C. Radiance serum that I live so much has vitamin c from the kakadu plum which is the most stable source of vitamin c around. The entire bottle to the last drop of this serum is going to benefit your skin how it is meant to. This product has scientific studies backing it up as well. But other vitamin c serums aren’t completely stable so halfway through the bottle the benefits of the actual vitamin c are no longer there. So I say it all depends on the product. I always do my research before purchasing products. The picture of me not holding the serum is when I used other brands of vitamin c serums. The pic of me holding the C.Radiance Serum is me using only that one product and the glow is so much more noticeable.

I heard this is an amazing dupe for Skinceuticals. I also read that the sought after perfected formulatuon, is now able to be copied...Skinceuticals let the patent for their C E Fer run out. I plan on trying this next. I also heard amazing reviews about TIMELESS

I love Vitamin C serums. They work really well for me no matter what brand I use as long as it’s Ascorbic Acid. By really well, I mean seeing my skin brightens in just 3 days of use. (I stop all my skincare routines for months when I’m broke 😂) But this won’t be the same for others. My friend’s skin hates Vit C, but get the same result when using Niacinamide serums which I cannot tolerate. As for Skinceauticals, I would really love to try it when I can afford it. Board-certified derms are recommending this brand because of its thorough research-backed products. But, I’d have to stop the rest of my routine if I will buy it 😂 Also other brands are catching up to address the stability issue by adding Ferulic Acid- ex. By Wishtrend Pure Vitamin C 15% with Ferulic Acid (Picky giveaway!)
