Is anyone else disappointed with how problematic Krave Beauty is?

When the Purito sunscreen ordeal happened, people questioned beet shield. In response, Liah Yoo said that if you question all Korean sunscreens, you’re xenophobic. She then told everyone that beet shield is safe to use, and still says it is even though she can’t disclose the spf results and is taking it off the market. Earlier this week, I had already decided to not buy from Krave anymore after her treatment of BIPOC came to light, and how she goes to a homophobic church and won’t make her stance on gay marriage clear. I loved and recommended beet shield to everyone I knew and now I’m sending them the refund form with an apology. I loved their matcha cleanser and GBR but it feels wrong for me to still support such a problematic brand. Does anyone feel the same? Is there a good sunscreen you can recommend? Or a GBR dupe? Edit to add: I’m not here to change anyone’s mind. If you can’t live without these products 🤷‍♀️ I’m just letting those that are conscious about such things know.

Yesss If krave just acknowledged that they were gonna test to make sure back in November, we all could have been careful and they wouldn’t be getting such backlash right now. Instead they called people that expressed concern xenophobes and told consumers it was safe for months before pulling this product off the market. Almost as bad as keep cool when they threatened to sue people that questioned and then found their spf didn’t live up to its claims lol

Yes! People are thanking them for transparency cause they’re actually testing their products separately as opposed to relying on the manufacturer’s testing, which is apparently more than we can expect from most companies. But that’s not transparency; that’s just doing what should be expected from brands anyways. Transparency would be not sitting on results since the end of January and telling people that it’s still safe to use and then taking it off the market despite STILL claiming it’s safe.

Is there something with proof that any of this is true? You didn’t show where post was from

Ok thank you for checking. I found the post. I never heard of this church and will need to read about it before I can comment one way or the other. It looks like Liah commented as well regarding the Church and her beliefs. The original post is updated that the BIPOC creator was compensated fairly. That was the statement I found most surprising considering how Allyship is mentioned so much by Liah and KB.

Thanks for bringing this to our awareness! I can't ethically support a brand like Krave from what you described and I read. Good thing I have never spent a dollar on them! And now never will.
