Tell him not only the risk of skin cancer, but also how worried you are because by not wearing sunscreen, he is increasing his chance to get cancer. He may not care much about it and may even ignore the risk, but he surely cares about your feelings because you are his child.

Hello! You should tell him to go to the bathroom to put it on. Go in the stalls if he has to.
Or maybe he can put it on before work, in the car or at home?

I'm sorry to hear that...it's a shame skincare is viewed as a feminine thing

I have the same problem with my bf. He thinks he looks more macho if he have those tanned skin from working on his car all day under the sun. He thinks that sunscreen is just another waste of money that only girls and gays enjoy. Ughh toxic masculinity.

Struggling to make my boyfriend to wear sunscreen EVEN THOUGH he started developing keratosis on his face and the doctor told him to use it. I bought him one. I make sure I apply my sunscreen on in front of him before we go out. He won’t budge. So all I can say it’s everyone’s personal choice, and unless they decide to look after themselves there’s nothing you can do.

Do it for him.
My boyfriend is shy to do any skincare but if I'm like "come here, I'll put this on your face" and then apply it myself, it's ok and he let's me do it. Sometimes he asks about what is it and why it's good.
This won't work for a father as in the original post but it should be fine for a boyfriend or even a sibling.
