Does the Cerave hydrating cleanser sting your face?

If so do you have any theories about which ingredients are causing that?Because it stings mine even though it’s supposed to be very gentle and I’d love to figure out why so I can avoid the responsible ingredients in the future.

Do you think it’s stinging your face because your skin barrier is damaged? Usually all my products sting me when my skin is damaged even if they’re the most soothing. I know when my barrier is repaired when my skin no longer stings on contact.

I have barrier issues sometimes but when I do every product I own stings and this product stings me every time I try to use it even when other products are not stinging. I have tried using it several weeks apart. I have multiple cleansers that don’t sting my face at all. I have read some reviews that say that this one was reformulated a few years ago and started stinging people that used to have no issues with the product

I read one review were someone said they thought that it got reformulated with the addition of sodium hydroxide and that was what was making people sting. I think that sodium hydroxide is a very common pH adjuster though so I don’t know if that’s the culprit.
