I like both of them and both can be repairing and soothing to the skin specially after using retinol, also you can use the moisturizer right after retinol there is no reason not to.
I generally like using the cicalfat cream from avene when my skin need repairing.

I think that the difference between the two is that the restorative cream is for treating dryness, while the repairing cream is for treating irritations.
But I think that people can use one of the creams for both concerns~ In my case, I’m using since years now the repairing cream for my dryness in winter, cuz it’s the most available one in shops here, and it works really great !~~

Hello, the method that you are using is fine. But, if perhaps you encounter irritation, you might as well do a sandwich method (moisturizer + retinol + moisturizer)or applying your retinol last, as these methods reduce the irritation that comes after applying the retinol. You should also be minimal with your ingredients and avoid acids when you incorporate retinol. Occlusive moisturizers can also help you with your retinol journey.
