You should buy an oil cleanser, whether that be a cleansing balm, oil, or micellar water. After, use a water-based cleanser. Like dissolves like. Plus, the sunscreen seems to be water-resistant, which makes it more difficult to wash off with only a water-based cleanser.

It would be better to double cleanse. Your first cleanse can be a cleansing balm, oil or micellar water. Whichever according to your preference. That way you can be sure that it would cleanse sunscreen more thoroughly 😊

If you feel that there's still a lot of sunscreen residue, I suggest you start double cleansing too :)
Similar to you, I only wear sunscreen above my basic AM skincare on a daily basis. I used to only use 1 cleanser in my PM to remove my sunscreen and general dirt off my face. But I realized there's some leftover residue and clogged pores that started to build up, probably also because my cleanser is not "strong" enough. After starting to double cleanse, my skin is much clearer now with significantly less clogged pores. You can opt for a cleansing oil, cleansing balm, cleansing milk, micellar water or whatever suits your preference really :)

oh yea cetaphil cleanser is great and non stripping but definitely won't be able to remove all traces of sunscreen if it is waterproof or water resistant! glad you were able to address it!

yes, you should double cleanse. you could use an oily make-up remover whether its cleansing oil, cleansing balm, or micellar water and followed by a face wash to make sure the residue from your sunscreen doesn't clog your pores
