Burning sensation and redness.

Hi Picky community! I recently started using the glycolic acid toning solution from TO in my nightly routine. I realized that after exfoliating with that product, the other products I use after, feel like they are burning my skin. Did anyone else feel any burning sensation after using this toning solution? Any recommendations for any toners that have exfoliating ingredients or exfoliant themselves? The products below is what I use in my nightly routine.

the concentration of your routine was quite high for your skin. 7% aha toning and 10% niacinamide is really high if you're a beginner for this ingredients. If you can, use the mild ones first before you use the high concentration.

like all actives you need to start slowly once or twice a week and build up use. You've likely over used it in your nightly routine and damaged your skin barrier. I'd suggest fixing your barrier first go back to basics no actives, then introduce actives slowly after your barrier is healed πŸ’•πŸ’•

Definitely will not be using that daily. I think I will try exfoliating twice a week and if I feel like my skin is still burning after, I will try another toner.

It could be the concentration of the product is to high for you so your skin doesn't seem to give good reaction. Maybe you could try something mild and gentle Honestly I personally think TO glycolic acid is quite strong so you might have to be extra careful with that Heres some recommendations that you can take a look πŸ€—

Burning sensation comes from small wound on your skin, may be your skin tight and dehydrated and super dry. Try using calming toner for a while. Until there's no burning sensation u feel. Then switch back to glycolic acid toning solution. I experiencing the problem before, i switch to calming toner about 1month. Then after tht no burning sensation when i applied toner with active ingredients.
