I hope Deciem wins the lawsuit if they are sued. The packaging has labels and even on Sephora or the Deciem website itself, it tells you “how to apply.”
This chemical exfoliant is strong, and shouldn’t be used daily. It’s the user’s fault for going overboard by over-exfoliating.
Moderation applies for all things in life. Food, exfoliating, drinking, etc. You have to have self control when you’re using chemicals, especially on your face.

After learning about this lawsuit, I looked up cases of chemical burns associated with the peeling solution. I found two accounts on the internet, both of whom say they used the product as instructed and had experience with chemical exfoliants before.
I’ve used this product (it was just okay for me, and I now have products I prefer) and it certainly didn’t give me chemical burns. I know a lot of people who use it and love it. But it surprises me that everyone on this thread seems to just be assuming that these are cases of consumer misuse rather than a potentially valid claim without even looking into it.
If, for example, there was a batch with a quality control issue that resulted in a higher percentage of acids and people got burns from that, I as a consumer would want that to be looked into. Or, to list another example, if storage of the formula in a particular way impacted the formula so that it might cause chemical burns, and this isn’t disclosed on the packaging, this is also information the consumer deserves to know.
If this lawsuit is completely frivolous (which it very well might be) I hope that is found out, and doesn’t impact the availability of a product so many love. But I don’t think the lawsuit’s existence in and of itself is an inherently bad thing. People also shouldn’t assume user error without looking into the actual accounts behind the claims of chemical burns.
EDIT: Just wanted to add that people are absolutely correct that people frequently misuse this product, especially on tik tok (that one person who used it and DERMAROLLED haunts my dreams). That being said, the law firm doesn’t have much of a case if they can only find potential claimants who blatantly ignored directions, and they probably know this.

what?? I don't think the brand is at fault. The brand created products for people in need. So when people are using it without any knowledge or proper ways.. it is not mainly brand's fault. What is the point of sueing brand for your own negligence?? People on here and there are using this solution for contents too sometimes.
Just imagine how much this solution helps peoppe with troubled skin before.

Well that is utterly cruel. Its not the brands fault when they already stated "read directions first". Although i dont use it and quite scared to use it myself, i still believe that it help some individuals a lot instead of those who chose to not read the directions

I hadn't heard of this! Another ridiculous lawsuit. TO puts soooo many warnings on that product, people just hate reading directions. 🙄
