Why didn't the oil cleanser emulsify?

I have been using Caudalie's cleansing oil for a while now and I was happy with it cause it cleansed makeup and sunscreen well. However, when I tried to remove my A'pieu Zinc Mineral Sunscreen, it didn't work. It didn't emulsify with the water and felt like I was putting water on top of a normal oil. Why do you think that happened? Can products lose their ability to emulsify? Or are there ingredients that don't match in the products?

That is very strange 🤔 no, products don’t loose the ability to emulsify and there shouldn’t be any reaction between the cleanser and a sunscreen strong enough to change the formulation. I would try emulsifying the cleanser in my hands to check if it’s working like normal on a clean skin? But I don’t really know what to say other than maybe add more water, which is a pretty stupid advice, because it’s not like you can’t wash your face🙈

I know that oil oxidizes in the sun, so maybe you left it out in the sun too long🤷🏼‍♀️ i don't know this is strange
