I haven’t been irritated by my chemical sunscreen after beginning tretinoin. Granted, my sunscreen is the Purito one, so it doesn’t have a lot of chemical filters).
Funny thing is that even with sensitive skin, my skin took tretinoin like a champ; not a lot of irritation, just some major flaking and slight itchiness. Nothing as bad as when my entire face burned from benzoyl peroxide.
When I began tretinoin, I didn’t use any other actives and just let tretinoin do its thang. I used a super gentle cleanser at night, water rinsed in the morning, and doubled on hydration (1 toner, 1 essence) and moisturization (2 moisturizers at night). I’d say my skin is pretty much well adjusted to tretinoin now; I’m about 2 months in. I’ve been on 0.05% cream, every other day since the very beginning.
I’ve linked some products that I think really helped me get through retinization.

hi thanks for your reply! so good to know! I use the Cosrx snail mucin essence as one of my steps before the tretinoin. I love it! I hear so many good things about the propolis products from Cosrx and I love Deae Klairs but haven’t gotten that one yet! I will give it a try!

Hi !
does the doctor directly give you 0.05% prescription ? I'm currently using 0.025% and it's great so far.

I use 1% percent retinol before. I was using tretinoin 4x per week directly, and now I'm using 3x per week because I wanted to use other products 🤣

I used the Dermologica Dynamic Skin Recovery. I used it as a moisturizer/spf combo since I have more oily skin.
