Alternatives for Vitamin C?

My skin has been recovering well, less acne and fading PIH. So I thought it would be fine that I restart my usual routine. After a while I realized acne is appearing a lot on my cheek area. Turns out it was because of the vitamin c I've been using. I figured that out because it's the only product that stings and I reintroduced Vitamin C a little later into my routine. I'd love to know if there are alternatives to Vitamin C for brightening skin tone. Niacinamide hasn't done much for my skin honestly 😅 I'm open to other Vitamin C products or other skin brightening ingredients 😊

Skin1004 Tone Brightening Ampoule has 77% centella asiatica, 4% niacinamide, 2% tranexamic acid and Vit. C derivative. I've been using it for only a week so I really haven't seen much improvement in my current PIH but the ingredients looks very promising.

You could try products containing tranexamic acid or azelaic acid. Both are good for brightening/balancing skin tone.

I have pretty sensitive skin and I've used 20% azelaic acid without irritation - I think in terms of acids these aren't too bad. I haven't used these tranexamic acid products but they're options you could try.
