Differin, Adapalene gel 1.0. First time user needs opinions ๐Ÿ˜

I have read somewhere that the best way to add adapalene in your skincare routine is one week one application at first and then adding the application for the next week. Example: Week 1 : apply one time only Week 2: twice a week.. Until the 7th week then you can apply everyday. Also, most of adalapene reviews that I read that they have in common is you need to encounter some kind of 'purging' first and then your skin will get better. This is my third week and... my face dont purge. In fact, I cant really see the changes in my face bumps๐Ÿ˜…. It is not like I'm looking forward to the purging but how would I know it works on my skin. Or is it too early for me to say this because i'm only in my third week?

retinoids and their derivatives may take 3-6 months before you start to see the effects. itโ€™s dependent on the individual and which derivative youโ€™re using. Iโ€™d say give it more time as the skin has a natural cycle of ~28 days and so youโ€™re probably not going to see the effects until 3+ cycles have passed.

Iโ€™m curious about this too I was thinking of trying it I just found out you can wear it during the day and it wonโ€™t break down with light exposure the way retinol does

yeah.. I saw a video about this. It says that if you are wearing it in the day just make sure that you also wear sunscreen. because exposure to direct sunlight makes the product less effective. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ.

thankfully, no. i stopped at thrice a week because my acne has gotten better <3 but i do think it can be applied everyday, you may just wash it off after a hour if you have sensitive skin/are really worried abt it

I did not experience severe purging. Some acnes came out but it healed faster. Used it twice a week for 2 weeks then used it 5 times a week after. (night time routine)
