i know that a lot of people don't recommend witch hazel on sensitive skin. i would stop that toner and go for a simple hydrating alcohol free one or more simple, a thermal water.
i feel like adapalene + witch hazel doesn't work for your skin and triggered the burning sensation!
try to find a simple, hydrating toner, or even more minimalist, a soothing thermal water.

agree ! witch hazel can be drying atimes , especially when you use it twice a day with adapalene. Maybe you can skip the toner and use it only few times a week or change to a hydrating toner

Witch hazel is a definite irritant to me and my skin doesn't get easily irritated. Cut back to the gentle basics and let your skin heal for a week or two. Reintroduce the products back into your routine one at a time allowing a week in between - this will help you determine the trigger of irritation.

thank you for the information!π Do you think because I used the toner twice a day, that it irritated it??

Stop using them. Treat your skin with pure Aloe Vera, when healed if you want patch test each product for 24 hours separately, it may be 1 product not both.

I put Petroleum jelly with Aloe and it is working to stop the burning. Good idea to patch test!!π
