I've used Salicylic acid before as I have acne prone skin but first time using this product, luckily it isn't so severe as the picture but it looks like some kind of reaction and I'm thinking the only new thing in my routine is this.

I'm sorry this happened! 😔 I started using the Cerave SA smoothing cleanser a few months ago and even though my skin is rather on the sensitive side, I've never had any reactions like this. Have you ever had reactions like this in the past? Maybe it's the combination of this cleanser with the products you apply afterwards? I really hope it gets better because for me personally (with acne prone skin) it's a good cleanser.

Now that you mention it I use a BHA afterwards so maybe it's that, I use the CeraVe hydrating cleanser usually and I absolutely love it but I'll try to see what happens if I cut some other products out of my routine.

Hmm no I absolutely do not experience that with this cleanser. I don’t think that should happen. It’s a rather mild exfoliator. However if I do use my vitamin C afterward (or any other actives like Retinol or acids) I can get this in a way milder form. You have to be careful with what other products you use after a SA cleanser. Is there anything you combined it with, that could be the problem?
