Niacinamide

Doea anyone here that also breakout when using any niacinamide serums like the ordinary? I tried 2 other niacinamide serums and they do the same. My skin will be okay at first 2 weeks and then suddenly react to niacinamide. I heard that niacinamide doesn't suppose to break you out. I'm frustrated đŸ˜©

Hello đŸ‘‹đŸ» niacinamide is not supposed to cause purging, but you still might be sensitive to it or it can cause allergic reaction. That is probably what is happening. Also, some people react badly to zinc in ordinary’s formulation, but since there is no zinc in one of the serums you’ve tried, I’m afraid you’re reacting to niacinamide. Also, some people can’t handle 10% niacinamide. Have you ever try a lower percentage or is 10% the only percentage you’ve ever tried?

Our skin tend to purge when using active ingredients. Even tough Niacinamide is considered an active ingredients (Vit B3), it doesn’t cause purging cause it doesn’t speed up the skin regeneration as BHA, AHA, and retinol does. There are 2 clause that might happen. First, your skin can’t tolerate niacinamide. Second, the overall product formulation that break you out. As in my case, I can’t tolerate Vit C and its derivatives. I know it’s bo not purging bcs everytime I use it; a cyst is coming out the next day. Hope this helps 😊

Have you tried low concentrated niacinamide? I heard 10% is really strong for some people.
