If you don't have an exfoliant or acids in your routine, azelaic acid can fill up that spot! However, if you're looking for something like a serum which can brighten dark spots, go with Alpha Arbutin :)

i think both are benefitial but it depends what you want to achieve - alpha arbutin is a brightening agent while azelac acid also targets other matters such as break outs etc

Alpha Arbutin has brightening properties, but Azelaic Acid would be more suitable for sensitive skin and even makes it stronger because it’s anti inflammatory while being a versatile ingredient that reduces acne and also lightens hyperpigmentation.

I know the Azelaic acid is good for acne and sensitive skin. Alpha Abutin is good for lightening acne marks. Both are beneficial for different reasons!
