Toner or essence?

In my opinions the are difference, from %, simple toner lower % than essence lower % than serums

I personally use toner, but had been looking at an article, I don't remember where it was, but , the article said there was a big difference, and I never really used essence, I was wondering if I should wanted to get thoughts on it

it can change from company to company but essences are primarily found in kbeauty and are obtained through fermentation and are pretty concentrated. this is not an additional cleansing step toners are honestly more diverse, and harder to explain but it’s supposed to help prep the skin for the rest of your routine, but it’s not supposed to clean your skin
