Dry/Resilient
I'm a devoted essence user! Something that is necessary for one person isn't necessarily necessary for another so I don't think that we can make a blanket statement about what's necessary.
What I can say is that I have dry and aging skin, so essences with their fermented ingredients keep my skin healthy by incorporating natural well-aging ingredients AND essential hydration to my routine that my toners (and yes, I apply multiple layers of hydrating toners) and my serums (I use quality serums that target multiple skin concerns) just can't provide on their own.
Here are a couple of my favorites!

Essences are not necessary. I like adding a hydrating essence to my routine to help my combo skin stay hydrated throughout the day, especially in winter š

I do like using them! are they necessary for everyone? not really.. just if you want to add extra layer of hydration or incorporate certain ingredients that come in form of essence!
