Storing skincare in hot weather?

Hello Pickies! With the soaring global temperatures, and the all time record temperatures that we are experiencing here in the UK, it's getting tough at protecting the skincare from the heat. I personally store my skincare away from sunlight and windows but I noticed that all the bottles, be they glass or plastic, started to heat up. I sniffed from a bottle of freshly opened (less than 1 month) Ascorbyl Glucoside solution (a vitamin C derivate) from The Ordinary and it smells like it has oxidized! I also noticed my squalane oil started smelling a bit rancid, a thing I never noticed before. How can I save my skincare stash from being cooked by the summer heat? Do you use a skincare fridge to keep it cool? Please share any tips that you might have! πŸ™πŸ»

many use a skincare fridge which is totally fine by me, but where I live it’s very expensive. I usually put my skincare products in my closet where it’s fully dark and so far no problems πŸ˜‚

Yeah, my family would not be very happy with the energy costs of owning a mini skincare fridge. Otherwise I do not want to lay out my skincare in the regular fridge. 😬

I live in Australia- I keep my skincare in a cupboard where it is dark and cool. I only take it out to use and pop it back in. I’ve never had an issue with it spoiling due to the heat. When I leave my sunscreens and moisturisers out on the bench or in the bathroom during the summer, they separate πŸ˜…

Hey! I feel ya. Waking up to a liquid-y and separated sunscreen is terrible, especially if it's one of the more fancier ones for the face. :( Huge money waste and probably hard to find it and buy it again.
