lactic acid is an exfoliator and can potentially help reduce dark spots but I wouldn't waste my time trying to use it to fight extensive PIH, so for that I would use alpha arbutin, if you still have active acne I would consider actual retinol if I were you cause it works on both, acne plus PIH

Iโd go with Alpha Arbutin but I personally prefer Tranexamic Acid! Go check these products out, I think they could help you fighting PIH :)

Those are two rather different ingredients with different effects. ๐ If you don't have any exfoliating product in your routine, you can add lactic acid. Alpha arbutin helps fade PIH. ๐
