Dont stop using it…you can if you really want to if the flakiness bothers you that much but that just means its working. its just one of the symptoms for it. Its very common and it happens to almost everyone that uses it at first. Im pretty sure its just because of the cell turnover. Tretinoin just speeds up the cell turnover rate. But its not permanent, its a good thing because it means its working like its supposed to. Continue what you are doing and dont forcefully remove the dead skin thats peeling. A good moisturizer is this skinfix triple peptide cream and ive also heard you can use la roche posay’s cicaplast cream as well. I also saw a video of a dermatologist saying he also recommended vanicream for a cheaper option. I am not sure how much it will reduce flaking but I am sure there are other options out there as well. Just be sure to only get rid of whatever is already ready to fall off! :)

thank you so much! I agree it's just a stage to push through. I will continue unless I get too much irritation and look like a tomato. it is probably a consequence of moving from every 3rd night to every other night.
and you don't have to convince me how awesome vanicream is ;)

yeah, Clinda will do that! 😂😂
I was very surprised when it happened to me back when I was on it. just make sure you are only gently removing skin that is totally willing to fall off.
Don't try to pick at or forcefully remove skin that isn't ready as you can cause wounds and scarring. I know it's annoying and you feel like a lizard, but trust me, no one really notices.
if you're super embarrassed, you can just put on a covid mask and sunglasses, it won't last for many more days.
the peeling will eventually go away, but your skin will still feel delicate. if you're on Clinda, you must always, always wear sunscreen because you will burn so easily. but you are halfway to smooth, beautiful skin! 🤗

hmm never thought it could be the Clindamycin! but since I introduced both simultaneously there is always the possibility.

Ooooo STOP the Tretinoin!!!!!!
Ok don’t stop it but you definitely need to make some changes…you’re damaging your skin barrier
Use the lowest strength 0.025%
Reduce frequency: 1x a week or 2x a week
Use a pea sized amount
Apply to DRY skin using the sandwich method
Be very gentle with your skin as it may be very sensitive rn and avoid exfoliants

May I ask about your routine, to see the product as to why you are peeling?
I think I read before that peeling is not good when using tret/retinoids, specially forcing the peel off the skin.

my routine is extremely minimal right now. just Clindamycin gel and moisturizing with sunscreen in the morning and cleanser and moisturizer in the evening.
I always peel with retinoids, with adapalene as well. I feel the need to remove to help remove it since I figure it's skin that coming off anyway. and it looks sooo flaky under makeup.
